Important changes for 2008
The ROTAX classes will run in a separate series in
2008. The winners of this series will become National
Champions. The series will consist of regional qualifiers
in all participating regions and a one-off National
Final at Zwartkops International Kart Raceway on 4 October
2008.
The top two competitors in Junior Max, Senior Max and
ROTAX DD2 (winner and top Master competitor) will qualify
for well sponsored drives at the 2008 ROTAX World Finals.
This includes the use of brand new karts, dyno tested
new engines, tyres, fuel, oil, tools, trolley as well
as first class hotel accommodation.
The CIK classes KF2 and KF3 will be introduced in 2008
and will join GP Junior and the ROK classes in the traditional
National Championship Series. You will have the option
as in the CIK rules to run front wheel brakes. The series
will consist of four rounds;
In the GP Junior class new engines
and carburettors will be evaluated from January 2008 until
June 2008 for implementation in January 2009. As from
2008 only the SA Kart (Wild Kart) will be allowed for
National Championship racing in GP Juniors.
